Once a member of Deaths, singer-songwriter Lukáš Vydra found his own voice in 2012 with lo-fi dream pop outfit Mayen. On the Wonder Years EP (2013) he introduced his unique songwriting with material full of melancholy and fragile beauty, which deservedly got him a Newcomer of the Year nod at 2012’s Vinyla Awards. On the follow-up EP Elegy (2015) Mayen transformed into a trio, which gave the songs a more organic feel. With plenty of praises from the music blogosphere, Mayen is set to attract even more attention in the years to come with his unusual take on indie rock.
